Services. 2026-07-28 11:58:37 - Paul D. Foy - RussiaUkraine I thought I'd make a post on the Russia-Ukraine war as I see this as a completely unnecessary conflict. There's been a lot of talk about the historic precedent, going back in time to one region belonging to this particular country or that particular country, that there is a historical precedent for it. The actors are only engaging in their activities to restore what they perceive as historical precedent. Well this is a completely ridiculous argument and a completely fake argument. What is important is that people are being bombed, people are unable to live in their flats, their apartments are being destroyed, and their means to exist are being destroyed. People are unable to cultivate their allotments and such a state of affairs shouldn't be caused and no actor or other should cause this. They are being prevented quiet enjoyment of their allotments. There is a Ukrainian woman in my allotment, Maria. She happens to be tending the plot where I, as a boy of perhaps 12 or 13, tended or rented the plot that Mr. Sedgwick, an engineer, gave me and where I grew peas. Now according to the argument of perhaps Russia, because I view them as predominantly causing the conflict, why don't I go up to her and claim historic precedent to this area and that I should take over it and start cultivating the crops of my desire and speak in my language, English, rather than the Ukrainian language? Why don't I use my might and power and 10% superiority strength as a man to do this? Well for two reasons: 1. It is completely wrong to behave like this in the first place. 2. Maria might get together with her community and they may gang up on me. They may come outside my flat, outside the building in which I live, and start talking on the street and chatting and leave the door open so that I can overhear them. Speaking in Ukrainian, and bringing their children as well. There are many groups in my community speaking many different languages. There are Ukrainian people, Polish people, Bangladesh people, people speaking Bengali, people speaking Arabic, Urdu, Dominican languages, German, Italian, you name it. There will be some community in my country and even in my area that is speaking this. Other countries don't go around claiming the minorities are being persecuted in some sense just because they have problems with the laws or they want Sharia law or something like that, or they can't speak their own language. No that doesn't occur and it's not a justifiable excuse to cause somebody else or some other entity significant problems. Post a comment: |
